The Key Family
Tuesday, January 27, 2009
These guys were so much fun to shoot! They made fun of each other non stop....I could feel the love!
I shot individual family portraits of everybody but I wanted to show this one because I learned a new way to get kids to smile. If these two are any indication yelling "underwear!" will work everytime. It wasn't my idea by the way....but once I heard other family members yelling it...I ran with it.
Thanks for the opportunity everybody! It was a pleasure to meet you all!

Mobile Bay Bride
Back in June of last year I shot a groomsman/bridesmaid fashion feature for Mobile Bay Monthly magazine's Mobile Bay Bride publication. It was a long, hot, humid day but the crew that Lawren Largue at the magazine put together was wonderful! Brandi Hoover and Chandise Todd with The Sanctuary Salon did a great job with the makeup and Ginger Drago did an incredible job with all the styling!
Here is the cover of the magazine....that image was shot by Jeff and Meggan Haller with Keyhole Photo. Great photo!

Here are the actual pages from the spread on the bridesmaids. Lawren put together a beautiful Alice in Wonderland themed spread.
There was also a spread with groomsman fashion. I don't have the files for those pages yet but I will post those as soon as I have them! Special thanks go out to The Mobile Bay Bears for allowing us access to Hank Aaron Stadium and allowing these members of the team to model for us!

The (New) Flashbacks Promo
As I have covered before I was part of The Flashbacks for 8 years. I had a great time with the band and am still in touch and friends with all the guys.
There have been quite a few member changes in the past few months and they needed a new promotional image.

The group will be honored this Saturday night at The Princess Theatre. They are being recognized for musical achievement by The Alabama Music Hall of Fame! Of course the elephant in the room is that my 8 year contribution was clearly the main reason for the honor. :)
Congratulations to all of The Flashbacks members...past, present, and future!

Martin and Whitney
Monday, January 26, 2009
Whitney may look familiar to you. Not from the previous post necessarily....but from a bridal fashion session I did a few years ago. This is Whitney.....
....but that is not Whitney's dress.....bouquet.....or groom. If you really pay attention to all of the images on my blog and website....I may need to draw a flow chart for you to explain all of this. But....bottom line is this....all the pictures from here on out are of Whitney and Martin....and they really got married.
As always the lovely and talented Gary Cosby Jr. shot with me as well. Ok...well he's talented anyway.

Whitney and her dad as he prepares to walk her down the aisle.
I went outside to set up for this portrait and the wind practically ripped the umbrella I was using right out of my hand. Mary Poppins to ya.
....wait....what was that?
The reception was at the newly remodeled Syke's Place on Bank Street in Decatur.
....here's one of Cosby's...
It rained like crazy between the ceremony and the reception. But it stopped long enough for us to go outside for a few bride and groom photos.
This next one is by Cosby and is one of my favorites from the night!
Wait...did they do that twice?
Cosby pirated my strobes for this one...it's such an awesome shot! He was on the balcony above everybody for their exit!
Congratulations you two! Thanks for letting a photographer with peacock feathers growing out of his head shoot your wedding (thanks for nothing Cosby).
